Our Story

Jaipur has thousands of amazing street food vendors - but many of them never show up on Google Maps, have no signage, and are known only by word of mouth. Locals know exactly where to go; visitors, and even newer residents, don't.

So we built Thela Khojo - search by area, every spot gets checked out in person, and it stays honest because the people posting reviews are the ones actually eating there.

OUR MISSION

To preserve Jaipur's authentic street food culture, and help local vendors reach more people.

OUR VISION

To become the go-to place for discovering real, local street food across every corner of Jaipur.

Why Jaipur Street Food Is Special

Jaipur, the Pink City, might be the most walkable street food city in India. Most of the legendary stalls are packed within a couple of kilometres of each other in the old walled city, so you can knock out kachori, chaat, lassi and sweets in one evening on foot, no cab needed. Try doing that in most other Indian cities.

You can taste the city's history in the food. Royal Rajasthani cooking, Mughlai flavours that came in through centuries of trade, and Marwari recipes brought by the merchant families who built old Jaipur, all sitting on the same street. That's how a Mughlai-style kachori ends up next to a Marwari sweet like ghewar, one stall down.

It's stayed real because of who's cooking it. A lot of Jaipur's most famous stalls are still run by the same families, same recipe, two or three generations in - no menu consultants, just years of doing it right. And then there are dozens of tiny, unmarked stalls tucked into the old city's lanes that only locals really know about - exactly what Thela Khojo is built to help you find.
